This book is an amazing true story of a man who became a quadriplegic after a swimming accident. The total devastation and life changes he and his wife go through in her attempts to keep him alive are beyond the majority of most peoples deepest imaginations. The author spares no detail in the insanity that goes on behind hospital doors, and the depths of despair both patients and their loved ones deal with on a regular basis. Anyone reading this will gain a tremendous sense of appreciation for their lives and how fortunate they are to be able to do everyday simple things, like eat with a fork, and walk outside for a some fresh air. The author should be awarded a Medal of Honor for all of the beyond believable things she went through with courage not many can even understand. A must read-one of the best books I have ever read, and I read alot. Anyone with.a heart and some compassion will love this book and remember it for years to come.
